Project 4 - North Royalton
Project 4 in North Royalton is complete, and it is a beauty! This previously abandoned, neglected house was begging for a makeover, and the transformation is remarkable. We bumped out walls, removed walls, raised ceilings, added windows and a porch, replaced the roof, siding and every single piece of drywall, added all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, fixtures - you name it! Congratulations to the new owners. We hope you live happily ever after in our favorite project to date!
North Royalton Exterior Before
North Royalton, Ohio property Before and Afters. This 80 year-old house had been vacant and neglected for several years. The process to transform it was long and difficult but so worth
Exterior After
Bumping out the sides of the house and breezeway increased the square footage and gave the house much needed symmetry. The expansive front porch adds the perfect touch!
Living Area Before
The original house layout was boxy. When you walked through the front door, you were immediately confronted with an awkward wall
Living Room After
We knocked out the ugly wall separating the front living area from the dining and kitchen area, replaced an ugly off center bay window with a gas fireplace and added windows bringing in loads of natural light. The kitchen sink overlooks the beautiful rolling backyard.
Kitchen Before
The original kitchen was less than 60 square feet and completely nonfunctioning. One narrow window near the stairs allowed limited natural light.
Kitchen After
Bumping out the side of the house, claiming space from a small, unusable bedroom and adding large windows transformed this into a spacious galley kitchen with loads of natural light. We used every bit of space available and added a huge walk in pantry with custom built doors.
Main Floor Bath Before
My favorite bathroom ever! We found two original vintage wall sinks on the property. After having them refinished, we used them in the main floor bathroom. A clawfoot tub was the perfect complement.

Second Floor Before
The second floor was a disaster and complete gut. There were holes in the roof as well as the floor. We expanded the dormer and raised the ceilings. In addition, we reconfigured the entire space to fit two large bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Every bit of space was used, including an area for storage under the eaves.
Second Floor Master Bedroom #1
We vaulted part of the ceiling, added a larger window, custom built in closet doors and cabinetry as well as a beautiful attached bathroom.

Basement Before
The only words to describe the original basement are: disgusting, filthy and scary.
Basement After
The was a huge transformation!. We widened the stairs and bumped out the landing to provide a space for shoes and boots. Adding a large patio door and large window allows instant access to the patio and amazing backyard. We also added a huge laundry room and walled off the mechanical room which has all new HVAC.
